Spanish Language Websites: Reaching out to the U.S. Latino market

The demographic trends which show dramatic increases in U.S. Latino/Hispanic population in the last 30 years is expected to continue indefinitely.  Companies big and small who are aware of the 30 million plus Spanish speakers online in the U.S., are diversifying their online presence by creating Spanish language websites with Spanish language content. They recognize that there is big money to be made by marketing to Latinos directly in their mother tongue.  Reaching out to Latinos in Spanish will show the Latino community that they want to earn their trust and business.

Hispanic Growth RateLatinos are known to be loyal consumers.  Once they attach themselves to a brand, company or firm, they tend to stick with them.  They are price conscious but feeling that they are welcomed and accepted by those in the business community is even more important.  When Latinos find websites in Spanish, identifying them as the target market, they are much more likely to take notice and respond.  Even those who speak English state that they want to be recognized by their culture and Spanish language heritage.  This makes them feel respected.  This is key in the marketing to Latinos strategy.

In recent years research companies have released numerous reports underscoring the value of marketing to Latinos online in Spanish.   Companies who are first in to create Spanish language websites with Spanish language content in their respective business arena, are  likely to gain the advantage.  Those out on the sidelines allowing others to market to Latinos first, may wish they had been in earlier.

The U.S. census shows total Hispanic population in the U.S. in 2010 at 47.8 million; growing to 73 million by 2030.
